These workshops are designed to help students strengthen their focus, resilience, and self-discipline in a fun, supportive environment.

Plus, the program offers even more—basketball drop-ins at four different locations each week and bi-weekly sessions covering everything from financial literacy to mental health.

Skills for Life presents... The Skills at Work Program! 🌱

We’re excited to launch Skills at Work, a social enterprise providing young adults aged 16-25 a second chance to thrive. This initiative is focused on youth with a history in the justice system, giving them hands-on training in professional landscaping and cleaning while offering paid work opportunities within their communities. Through this program, participants gain essential job skills, build confidence, and create pathways toward a prosperous life for themselves and their families.

Our vision is to support reformative justice and address barriers in our community by connecting youth with meaningful work and mentorship. Skills at Work serves the Peel Region with services like lawn care, cleaning, and moving support—ideal for busy households, landlords, and small business owners who want to give back.

Catch a glimpse of our pilot weekend, and join us in supporting a brighter future as we prepare for our official launch next spring! Together, we’re building a stronger, more inclusive community. 🌍✨

On September 21st 2024 Skills for Life and @fbcfcn held the 2nd annual Impact gala.

This was an evening dedicated to celebrating achievements, fostering community, and creating meaningful change. The Impact Gala was created as a way to raise money to advance the well-being and empowerment of our youth.

This year we raised over $40,000 to help support programs such as Student Support For Learning Program.
